SkyART offers paid internship opportunities for teens and young adults in high school and college. Interns work across all SkyART departments — Operations, Development and Programs. Operations interns help with supervising the front desk, answering phones and administrative tasks. Development interns support grant writing and marketing, as well as the documentation of programs. Program interns work with Program Managers and Teaching Artists to support during SkyWAY and Project 3rd Space programs. Program interns also help with the important work of keeping SkyART studios cleaned and organized.
SkyART also offers art therapy internship opportunities through Project Impact for Bachelor and Master level students who are passionate about art, after school programming, arts education, and clinical services. Interns will choose to apply for a specific department (Administrative or Programs) that focus on the intern’s interests and career goals. Interns will also work one-on-one with the Youth Support Manager to support their efforts in developing outreach and youth participation in the program. Interns will receive weekly supervision by the Program Manager and receive ongoing training and development by all of the SkyART staff to enhance their skills as an artist, art therapist and arts educator. Our internship is a flexible program with rolling basis enrollment. This internship functions as a social and expressive service program geared toward teaching interns to invest in disadvantaged communities as activists and change agents through creative, justice-oriented work.
