We are currently looking to fill the following position(s):
CREATIVE THERAPIST – GENERAL – Art therapists will provide virtual or in-person art therapy to diverse groups, including those in detention, shelters, or at home, using creative processes to enhance participants’ well-being, connection, and self-esteem. It requires assessing individual needs, guiding expressive art sessions and documenting outcomes in SkyART’s database, while analyzing session data for ongoing improvement.
CREATIVE THERAPIST – SCHOOL AND COMMUNITIES – SkyART art therapists provide and customize group art therapy sessions in schools and community settings. They assess participants’ needs using expressive arts methods, conduct sessions designed to improve well-being, connection, diversity awareness, self-esteem, and empathy, analyze data from SkyART assessments and case notes, document sessions using SkyART forms, establish goals with the Project Impact Coordinator/Manager, and obtain necessary art supplies.
JUST-US THERAPIST – Just-Us therapists will work with current and previously incarcerated youth in a non-traditional setting that focuses on using forms of art to engage young people in their ability to self-regulate, communicate and connect. SkyART has created this position to integrate expressive therapeutic arts into our services and advocacy on behalf of young people incarcerated, in aftercare (returning to their community), or currently involved in the justice system.
TEACHING ARTIST – Teaching Artists will be scheduled to facilitate 1x workshops or placed in 7 -10 week residencies at the SkyART Studios or with our various school and community partners. As professional, experienced artist educators and representatives of SkyART, they will share a commitment to our mission: To provide free, safe, creative spaces where people are empowered and new connections are made.
