Floating Museum has also been working with SkyART on a “Floating Fellows” program. Led by SkyART teacher Kris Casey, a group of 10 students started off their fellowship with an intensive week of tours to Chicago’s cultural institutions, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, DuSable Museum of African American History, and Chicago’s Cultural Center. After talking with staff at each of the museums about curation and collection, the fellows (under the guidance of Ms. Casey) worked on their own crate for River Assembly, which will be added to the exhibit and displayed around Chicago.
