We believe exposing teens to professional artists is paramount to their growth at SkyART. That is why the P3S Visiting Artist program is so important.  

Most recently, ektor garcia, a globe-trotting artist living in Oaxaca, Mexico, led P3S participants in a ceramics workshop on Saturday, January 11th. Working side by side with ektor, participants experimented with different ceramics techniques. After a few hours of work, several new pieces were ready for firing in the kiln. We can’t wait to see how they turn out!

An internationally recognized ceramicist and multimedia artist, ektor’s work has been shown at galleries and museums including SculptureCenter (New York), The New Museum (New York), Cooper Cole (California), Kurimanzutto (Mexico City) and PROGETTO (Lecce, Italy). Most recently, the Whitney Museum of American Art acquired one of his pieces for their permanent collection. To learn more about ektor and his work, check out this interview in Pin-Up Magazine.
