Bringing creativity to our SkyART family!

You read it right! If we can’t make art at our studio, we will bring creativity to our SkyART family! Over the holiday weekend, the SkyART van was on a grand tour of Chicago’s South Side, delivering more than 100 FREE Art Kits to participants who may not have access to art supplies at home. Within 30 minutes of contacting families in our community, we had 75 requests for art supplies and they keep coming. 

By the end of this week we will have provided more than 200 Art Kits to our participants. But we’re not done yet! There’s still a chance to help provide art supplies for kids who don’t have access to engaging creative activities during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Please consider purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List. The materials you purchase will go straight to children and parents who can follow along with lessons through the SkyWAY Virtual Studio, or activities sheets our Teaching Artists provided for the art kits.

The latest round of art kits included colored pencils, crayons, watercolors, markers, brushes, model magic, drawing paper, SkyART stickers and a return envelop for participants to share their artwork with SkyART! 

 

School and Community Programs are Next Up

THANK YOU everyone who has donated art supplies! Our school and community programs are next up: we’re coordinating with principals and administrators to provide art kits to SkyART in-school participants.
